There are plenty of dining options for guests at the Bluff. The resort isn't within walking distance of the town, but there are plenty of restaurants on site. A 25-minute drive will bring you to Bluffton, a small town with plenty of boutique shops and independent cafés. ![]() Montage Palmetto Bluff sits on the banks of the May River just two hours’ drive from Charleston. Some of the suites have fireplaces and balconies. All rooms are spacious and furnished in a coastal Southern style with Wi-Fi, marble bathrooms and premium amenities. Guests over 16 can stay in the rooms in the Main Inn, while families might prefer the cosy cottages. There are a range of accommodation options at Montage Palmetto Bluff and they are spread out across the resort. Fresh lemonade and homemade cookies are served on the porch at the River House in the afternoons, and after dinner, you can choose different marshmallows from the s'mores cart to roast over a fire-pit. The hotel runs a culinary programme in the evenings. Most have sweeping views over the river or the surrounding leafy landscape. There are multiple dining facilities, ranging from fine restaurants to more casual cafés. You can also take a trip on Grace, a 1913 gas-powered motor yacht. Kayaks and canoes are available for you to use and there's also a boating club that runs a number of trips over to several beaches, as well as daily wildlife watching tours. The resort isn't located directly on a beach, but we recommend getting out on the water if you can. ![]() Comprising two separate villages, Moreland and Wilson, there are a lot of activities to take part in, from shooting clays at the Shooting Club, taking boat trips around the surrounding marshes on the May River, or strolling along the walkways of the nature reserve. Freshwater lagoons surrounded by herons and oystercatchers are scattered throughout the resort, with cottages and guesthouses dotting their banks. Montage Palmetto Bluff's Main Inn, with its white clapboard exterior and manicured grounds, is a fitting entrance for what lies beyond.
